The General Motor Company has been on a financial decline for sometime now. The government has stepped in and has given the car industry bailout money to try and help them get back on their feet again. At one point and time, General Motors was a force to reckoned with and their stocks were selling for much more than the asking price today. In real time, the asking price is one dollar and seventy eight cents per share. Today, the company is in trouble financially, and the government dose not want to let them just go away.
The General Motor company is big and has many divisions and works in 32 different countries making many different kinds of cars under many different car companies. They also have the G MAC division lending money to purchase vehicles and houses. The company's financial problem will not just affect General Motors, it also reaches out to all of their suppliers. So when GM is not doing well, it trickles down to many families. General Motors has been selling cars and trucks a long time and is determined not to disappear without a fight. The company is trying to come up with a plan to stay afloat.
General Motors has made changes starting at the top by changing their C.E.O. They also are cutting back everywhere they can. The sad part about cutting back is someone usually gets hurt. To try and turn around their financial problems, General Motors is bringing a new type of car to the public. This car will run on batteries for the first forty miles before it starts using gas. This will get lots of people to work or the store without using any gas. This will also help our environment.
