It's is a great testament of what can be achieved with determination and pure grit. The Steelers originally came into existence in 1933, on July 8, as the Pittsburgh Pirates. Founded by Arthur Joseph Rooney, the Pirates renamed themselves the Steelers in 1940, at the beginning if their regular season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers team has won the most Super bowl games in NFL history. They took their first Super Bowl win in 1974, playing against the Minnesota Vikings with an ending score of 16 to 6. The very next year they pulled off another win against the Dallas Cowboys in 1975, with a final score of 21 to 17. Just three years later, another pair of back-to-back Super Bowls were won. In 1979, they took on the Dallas Cowboys and won the game with a score of 35 to 31, and the next year they defeated the Los Angeles Rams, with a score of 31 to 19. Their next win wouldn’t come for several years, but in 2006, the Steelers tied the Super Bowl record for most wins with the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers beat the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 21 to 10. Just two years later they are able to break the record of most Super Bowl wins, when they beat the Arizona Cardinals in the 2008 Super Bowl.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a combination of 22 players, coaches and owners in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That number is outstanding and is why this team is as great as it is.
