It's that time of year again! March came in like a lion, and so has the NCAA Basketball Tournament - taking college basketball by storm! Fans are in full gear looking forward to seeing their favorites take the trophy!
Louisville is favored in many sectors to take the trophy home to Kentucky. The team received a Number 1 seed along with Pittsburgh, Connecticut, and North Carolina. However, Louisville remains the overall number 1 seed by the NCAA selection committee.
Senior Terrace Williams heads the Cardinals as a first team forward. Williams averages about 12 points per game. The Louisville Cardinals are known for their superb hustle on the court, as well as their stifling defense.
North Carolina's head, Ty Lawson has suffered a toe injury, but is expected to return in time for first round games. Lawson is North Carolin's point guard and was named ACC's Player Of The Year.
Memphis, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Duke all received Number 2 seed nominations, and the committee stressed it was no easy task seeding this year's teams. "We probably spent more time seeding this year than we have in my five years on the committee," Mike Slive, committee chair told reporters.
