Kurt Warner

Kurt Warner is coming off of one of his best football seasons since 2001. Kurt started training camp in 2008 as the back up to Matt Leinart for the Arizona Cardinals, but by the end of camp he had won the starting quarterback job.

Kurt entered the season with the Cardinals coming off of an 8 and 8 season the year before. He used the weapons that the Cardinals had in their passing attack to lead the team to their first division title since 1975 and their first playoff appearance since 1998. Warner finished the season with 30 touchdown passes, 4583 yards passing and a completion percentage of 67.1. On December 16th, 2008, Warner was named starting quarterback for the NFC Pro Bowl squad. For Warner it was his 4th pro bowl selection.

With the Cardinal’s first game coming against the Falcons, Warner led the Cardinals to a 30 to 24 victory at home. The next week they played the Panthers in Carolina, and once again they where picked to loss, but once again Warner lead his team to victory with a 33 to 13 win. This set the Cardinals up for the first ever NFC Championship game against the Eagles. Even with the Cardinals playing at home, the Eagles were picked to win. Once again though, Warner and the Cardinals jumped out to a 20 to 7 lead at half time. In the second half the Eagles came back and briefly took the lead, but Warner led the Cardinals to their winning drive their first ever super bowl against the Pittsburg Steelers.

Warner once again had a great game, but the Cardinals came up short in one of best super bowl games in many years.
